- Often, though not always, /b/, /t/, /d/, and /g/ lenite to respectively become [v], [θ], [ð], and [ɣ].
- /ʒ/ is found marginally, only in borrowings.
- /χ/ may be freely pronounced as /x/.
Vowels total 4 in number. /ɑ/ is often underlying /a/ or /aw/ following a historically emphatic consonant.
